Martini glasses are known widely, even by those who are not fond of drinking liquor. This is because this glass has been frequently used in movies, specifically those that were made by Hollywood, because of its sexy look. If the stories are correct, these glasses were shaped as such because they were introduced during the Prohibition period in the United States, when alcoholic beverages were prohibited. Even though martini glasses were originally made for the drink, people can’t help but get innovative with this great work of art. These glasses are sometimes used as centerpieces which are just perfect for making any party cooler.  One idea for a center piece is to fill the glasses with water and place a small floating candle inside it. The candle can either be a heart shape if it’s for a romantic dinner or perhaps a simple square for any other occasion. Big glasses can also be filled with candies or any sweets if you would like to decorate for a bachelorette party, or a farewell to a friend.  Gathering a couple of these glasses and filling it with different colors of crystal stones while placing them around a big candle also makes it an excellent centerpiece for Christmas. Just remember to place them a few inches from the candle to prevent the candle from looking over crowded.
